Lind Community member, Grant Miller, chaired the 7th Annual Truck Races which were held during intermissions of the 24th Combine Demolition Derby™. It was another enthusiastic group who traveled from towns throughout the state. Warden, Lind, Rosalia, Mesa, Pasco, Mattawa, & Paha, This event grows in popularity each year along with the truck numbers. This year, the Lions Club hosted 9 Grain Trucks!

Pick-up racers, (20 total) represented the following towns: Warden, Ritzville, Quincy, Garfield, Lind, Medical Lake, CleElum, Othello, Ephrata, Marshall, Vancouver, Davenport, Spokane, Otis Orchards, Cheney, and Lakeview, Oregon. This event has added a lot of thrills and excitement to the weekend, and we look forward to seeing them again in 2012. Special thanks to Adam Lamberd of 97ROCK for the great job announcing!

If you'd like to participate just get yourself a pickup or truck, 1970 or earlier, make some common sense safety adjustments, find a helmet, a fire extinguisher, fasten your seat belt, wait for the starting gun and hang onto your hat!! These events are definitely crowd pleasers! And it
never fails that one (or more) of the vehicles will get too close to the barrier, and often stop on top of it. Although there were
many close calls, everyone left the event in one piece, and for that we're all truly thankful!
