Coffee and Rolls at the Senior Center
then the famous
Barbecue in the Park

This year the Lind Senior Center and Thrivent served sweet rolls, coffee and ice tea to parade watchers and visitors to Lind. The camaraderie was great and appreciated by many. It was a very successful event with many visitors from as far away as Maine and New Jersey!  Hope they all join us next year!

Welcome to the Lind Senior Center!

Friends gather before the parade

All the way from New Jersey!  Welcome!

Some free time to visit

Turn around and pose! (Thanks, Grady!)

Yum on the maple bars, huh Vicki?

Where do you live....besides Maine?

Reading jokes?

Time out for a photo!

Great time visiting

And, now, on to the 2011 BBQ

Remember when--1966? An old-time BBQ in Lind's City Park,
sponsored by Active Club and the Lind Chamber of Commerce.

Recognize anyone? We think that Fred Beck, Don Miller, Godfrey Sackmann
and possibly Everett Conner are in the foreground?
Any of you have any ideas? We'd love to hear from you!

We also think that the man with the dark glasses...in the back
is Doug Urquhart. On the other side of the table in from the left,
the guy with the dark hairlooks like Everett Conner and the guy you see between
these two on the right side looks like Jerry Branson!

Approximately 600 BBQ Pork dinners were served in City Park. The number didn’t include royalty meals or free passes. Crowds gather directly after the Grand Parade with the line extending from the food tables out into the street. Again, the roast pork was a huge hit with the hungry crowd.

Lots of kids (and their moms) sold pies for the 6th grade Seattle trip! YUM!

Takes a lot of preparation (and beer)
to prepare the great meal in the park!

You really didn't have to go to such extremes to
