It's the Calm
Before the Storm!

It takes a lot of work getting ready for the Derby weekend. Most of the derby participants spend the last few months finding time to work on their vehicles. Also, it's the time when the Lions Club gets down to business. This year they accomplished two major projects. Vivian Loomis donated a chain link fence (in memory of Bill Loomis) and Steve Cox from Warden donated bleachers which had to be hauled and installed. With a great chairman, (Josh Knodel) both projects were completed. Thank you, Vivian and Steve for the kind and generous donation!

For the third year in a row the "Jim & Pete, the Oyster Guys" business was extremely popular. And guess what? They ran out of oysters before the Derby started this year!

Thank You
Vivian and Steve
In order for an event to be successful, it takes
many people donating their time and energy. In
some cases, generous friends donate
equipment or materials which in turn help
the event in many ways. This year, the Lions
benefactors were Vivian Loomis who donated
a large and beautiful chain-link
fence, (in Bill's memory) and Steve Cox who
donated bleachers giving the arena seating for
at least 500-600 more people. Thank you
Vivian and Steve! Your generosity is
appreciated!
