It's the Calm
Before the Storm!

It takes a lot of work getting ready for the Derby weekend. Most participants spend months getting their vehicles prepared for the action. Also, all committees need to perform to make the event a success.

The RV office got very busy the Thursday before the weekend. Didn't take long and the 150 reserve spots were filled. The committee sent RVs and tents to other parts of the community. Ruben Fode handled the overflow by directing the extras where they could park.

And it all begins

The beer garden was extremely busy. Mike and Ray sold many beer tokens. Great job, guys!

The Lind/Ritzville cheerleaders were elbow/hair/face deep in cotton candy sugar, but sales were wonderful. The popular booth sold out
before the end of the Derby.

Linda helped John set up a very popular booth. They sold ALL Tee Shirts including leftovers from previous Derbies.

The busiest gate at the Derby! The armed band committee also sold out of arm bands and had to resort to using bands from previous years. Even though they had sold out people entering the arena were told that they would be taking their chance on finding a seat.

Finally a break in the action for the ticket committee.

FFA "Porker"
As with the other food booths, this one sold out also!

The ASB Sno-Cones were a hit with a thirsty crowd. As with the others, they also ran out of supplies.

For the second year in a row the Oyster Grill was extremely popular. And guess what? They ran out of oysters before the Derby was finished.
