Barbecue in the Park
and
Breakfast at the Senior Center

Remember when--1966? An old-time BBQ in Lind's City Park,
sponsored by Active Club and the Lind Chamber of Commerce.
Recognize anyone? We think that Fred Beck, Don Miller, Godfrey Sackmann
and possibly Everett Conner are in the foreground?
Any of you have any ideas? We'd love to hear from you!

And, now, on to the 2008 BBQ

Approximately 520 BBQ Pork dinners were served in City Park. The number didn’t include royalty meals or free passes. Crowds gather directly after the Grand Parade with the line extending from the food tables out into the street. Again, the roast pork was a huge hit with the hungry crowd.

Union Elevator supplied complimentary pie with each dinner in recognition of their 100th year celebration. The Cub Scouts served the pies to a very appreciative crowd.

The local Cub Scouts also sold and served cold drinks

Check out the crowd!

It was definitely worth the wait

Senior Center Breakfast
The Senior Center hosted a new event for the Derby Weekend. Serving a full course breakfast was a very popular addition to the Saturday activities. Look for them again in 2009....maybe on Sunday!
